The United Way of Fort Smith will get to enjoy a new multi-purpose center thanks to a $25,020 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

The gift was announced today at Arvest Bank at 5000 Rogers Ave. Roger Holroyd, Beth Presley, Les Smith, and Mike Jacimore of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check to Eddie Lee Herndon, president of United Way of Fort Smith Area.

The new facility will be located at 120 North 13th St. in Fort Smith and will be a hub for volunteers and United Way staff to work out of for community events and support.

“On behalf of our staff, board, volunteers, and the clients that we serve, we are so thankful and honored that Arvest Foundation has chosen to help United Way of Fort Smith Area,” Herndon said. “This donation will allow United Way to enhance, equip, and furnish this wonderful workspace. We are very excited to have such a wonderful facility to do great community work.”

“As past chair of the United Way Board of Directors, I am excited that Arvest Foundation is supporting the United Way in the Fort Smith region,” said Smith, loan manager for Arvest Bank-Fort Smith Region.
