Arvest is accepting requests to be considered as the recipient of funds raised through the 17th annual Arvest Charity Golf Tournament. Non-profit organizations in North Central Arkansas and Southeast Missouri are invited to apply.

YELLVILLE, Ark. – A committee of associates at Arvest Bank in North Central Arkansas and Southeast Missouri are now accepting applications from area non-profit organizations for the 2013 Charity of the Year (CY) program. The organizations selected will benefit from the funds raised through the annual Arvest Charity Golf Tournament. Charitable organizations in Baxter, Boone and Marion counties in Arkansas and Howell County, Missouri are encouraged to apply. 2013 marks the 17th year of the golf tournament.

The committee will choose up to three charities to be the recipients of all tournament proceeds. Non-profit organizations within the four county area are encouraged to apply to become “Charity of the Year.” Final selection is based on past, present and future financial needs, along with other criteria. To qualify, the charity must be a designated IRS 501(c)(3) organization and must submit a letter to the committee explaining why their organization should be selected.

“Arvest Bank and the charity committee take great pride in our Charity of the Year program,” said Tiffany Watkins, marketing director for Arvest. “In 2012, we raised $9,900 which benefited three local non-profit organizations serving women, children, and the elderly. The organizations Kindness, Inc., Children’s Charity Ministry and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) each received $3,300.”

Watkins added, “The support we receive from the community for the Arvest Charity Golf Tournament makes it possible for us to give to these wonderful organizations that provide assistance to our neighbors and friends in our region.  We hope to raise even more money this year for local aid.”

Applications for the 2013 Charity of the Year are due no later than Friday, April 19, 2013. All applications should be mailed to: Arvest Bank Charity Committee, Attn: Tiffany Watkins, P.O. Box 325, Yellville, AR, 72687, or they can be emailed to
